As part of the closing program of the Frozen Pasts 6 conference, supported by the IGU Commission of Mountain Studies (CMS), participants took part in a special congress excursion to Chimborazo, one of the culturally significant sacred sites in the Chimborazo region. This journey added a rich cultural and local knowledge dimension to the conference’s scientific discussions, making it a truly unforgettable experience.

The excursion was organized by Alden Yépez (PUCE)—a member of the conference’s organizing team and part of our CMS community and Renato Chávez (ESPOCH), whose contributions were essential in making this meaningful visit possible.
